United States mens soccer team forward, Charlie Davies, 23, was seriously injured on Tuesday, in a car accident outside Washington, DC. Davies of Manchester, New Hampshire suffered serious injuries on legs and his condition was said to be stable .He had to undergo surgery for about five hours as he suffered fractures on his right leg bones. As per the latest reports on his accident, his injuries are not life threatening but his critical condition may leave him unfit for playing for the 2010 World Cup which is scheduled to be held in South Africa. Davies will have to stay in the hospital for almost a week to recover from the injuries caused by the accident and he may have to undergo further surgeries to recover completely. Dan Kalbac, the U.S. Soccer physician informed about the injuries and said he may require at least six months recovery time .The coach of his team said it was saddening to know about his accident. As per the latest information on the accident, the crash happened at about 3.15 a.m. in the George Washington Parkway located to the south of Memorial Bridge and a woman Ashley Roberta, 22, who was sitting inside the car, got killed .She was from Phoenix, Maryland.
